Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common questions about our practice
What can I expect at my first appointment?
First new patient appointments are approximately 60-75 minutes in length, where a comprehensive health history is reviewed followed by a brief physical exam. The doctor then puts together a detailed treatment plan, typically including nutritional and lifestyle recommendations, supplementation, prescriptions and/or medical testing if applicable.
What is your billing policy?
Payment is expected in full on the date of service. Most visits are billed for the length of time spent with the doctor, as outlined on our booking page. These fees do not include the cost of supplementation, testing or medications.
Do you accept insurance?
While our office does not directly submit claims to insurance, after payment is received we provide you with a detailed superbill/receipt so that you may submit to your insurance, on your own behalf, for reimbursement. Every insurance plan is unique. Please contact your specific carrier for details of your coverage.
What type of hormone therapy do you prescribe?
Dr. Bottrill prescribes bioidentical hormones, through either your commercial pharmacy or a compounding pharmacy. Depending on your insurance plan, you may have coverage for your hormones through your commercial pharmacy.
If I am not a candidate or do not want hormone therapy, are there other types of treatments to help me with my menopausal transition/symptoms?
Absolutely. There are many modalities that we use to improve health during the menopausal transition, including herbal medicine, nutritional supplementation, diet and lifestyle.
